






Tribunal was built for 2v2 Slayer
and features several innovative concepts,
as well as a cohesive art style inspired by
the cultures and architecture of Pre-
Colombian Mexico. As players explore
this ancient temple, they will find the
remains of the dead, sacrificed to the
great Idol. They shall fly to and fro
by way of dark magic, revealing
itself through an emissive Pink light.
These brave subjects will fight
one another, for life, to death,
in judgment of the Beast.

In my Design document series, I go over
all the decisions that went into the design
process of my map, Tribunal. Here I talk
about my inspiration for the design, art,
and some of the challenges I had to
overcome in order to bring those
thoughts to life. I also talk about my
design philosophy and how it translates
into the iteration, and evolution of the
map. Perhaps the most notable and unique
feature being the way I use teleporters to
supplement what would traditionally be
hard paths connecting major junctions.
